TURN EVERYDAY EATS INTO GOURMET TREATS

We can smell the barbecues firing up with Memorial Day just around the corner! We all love our staple American dishes but why not wow your guests this year by reinventing the classics with a modern twist! We love experimenting with different recipes and finding interesting ways to turn All-American fixes into unique, one-of-a-kind dishes. So, make your Memorial Day one to remember by surprising your guests with a spin on the following dishes: the traditional strawberry shortcake, plain burger and simple mac and cheese.

PATRIOTIC TWIST ON STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE

Show your patriotic spirit through this delicious and beautiful dessert, the Red, White & Blue Berry Trifle. Not only is this dish easy to make but it’s a showstopper. Be prepared for your guests to dig in and don’t be surprised if you find your trifle becoming insta-famous! This festive trifle is made of yummy layers. All you need are some fresh strawberries, blueberries, vanilla bean mascarpone whipped cream, and a traditional white vanilla sponge cake and VOILA! We also recommend you make a trip to your local farmers market so that you ensure you have all of the freshest fruit possible, and of course, to support your local growers.

NOT YOUR ORDINARY BURGER

The burger has come a long way!  There are so many variations of meat, toppings, bread, and more. The possibilities are endless and every option is delicious.  With that being said, I recommend you try something different than your typical beef burger with cheese. Take the gourmet route by preparing Wagyu Beef Sliders with smoked paprika aioli, cheddar and sweet onion jam. You can even use lamb or add a fried egg, bacon or avocado. Looking for a non-meat alternative that is just as satisfying and juicy? Try the Ahi Tuna Slider – it’s meaty without the meat! We love getting adventurous in the kitchen, and we encourage you all to do the same this Memorial Day. Your friends will leave satiated with these small bites.

COMFORT FOOD DONE RIGHT

You can never go wrong with comfort food, especially when it comes to mac and cheese. Turn this simple traditional cheesy dish into something more extravagant and worth celebrating. Mac and cheese is a dish where you can really get creative with the different types of cheeses and pastas available, including adding garnishes and the like. We recently made a Lobster Mac and Cheese for a private party we catered and every last noodle was gone! This dish is so sinfully good it should have a presence at every barbecue this holiday season! We used lobster, peas, tarragon, Gruyere, lemon zest and brioche bread crumbs. Make it memorable and add your own personal touch by using your favorite noodle or pasta and enjoy!
