MAKE CULINARY MEMORIES WITH MOM THIS MOTHER’S DAY

There’s no better way to show you care than to cook a healthy and delicious meal for your loved ones. One of America’s most celebrated holidays is fast approaching and personally one of our favorites — Mother’s Day. As much as we believe moms should be celebrated every day, there’s nothing wrong with designating one special day for that one special person in your life. It just gives us time to shine in the kitchen! Skip the long lines and frustration with making reservations and take a trip to your local farmer’s market and pick up some fresh local ingredients and add your own personal touch to your Mother’s Day brunch. Here are a few of our favorite dishes we like to cook up for mom.

FLAVORFUL FILLING BREAD

Start off your Mother’s Day brunch with a flavorful and filling flatbread. Instead of the usual bagels and cream cheese you’re used to every Saturday morning, this dish will kick it up a notch yet still feel like comfort food. The smoked salmon and capers will add a soft surprise to the crunchy flatbread. Garnish with red onions for not only color but taste. As for the choice of cream cheese, we prefer a dill flavored but we always encourage you to add your own personal touch and don’t be afraid to venture out!

CRUNCHY KALE SALAD

This super food is everywhere and there’s a reason for it – because it’s so extremely good for you. We can’t stress it enough. Kale salads. Kale shakes. You name it, kale’s on it. It’s packed with nutrients and flavor.  Serve this super food for your super mom!  You’ll have her smiling all brunch long.  We love to add dried cranberries, bulgur, goat cheese, tomatoes, almonds and white balsamic dressing. Toss it up, serve it up!

QUINTESSENTIAL QUICHE LORRAINE

This savory open faced pastry is filled with all things delicious. This is not only a classic but a winning dish where all of your guests will savour and devour each bite. In order to maximize your time with mom and out of the kitchen, we recommend you keep it simple yet delightful. All you need are some onions, bacon or French ham and Swiss cheese.

CHOCOLATE DELIGHT

End your sweet Mother’s Day celebrations on a sweet note. We haven’t met anyone who didn’t love chocolate but when paired with vanilla gelato and berries, then we for sure have hit a home run. Our flourless chocolate cake is light, airy with the perfect amount of sweetness to satisfy. You will leave your guests, and especially mom, happy with many fond memories to date.

Happy Mother’s Day!
